Taylor Swift Loves Vance Joy’s ‘I Know Places’ Cover

Vance Joy and Taylor Swift really like each other, OK? In case you needed more proof, they’re now swapping covers of each others’ songs.

Tay-Swizzle first kindled the musical BFF-ship last year by recording an excellent cover of his Hottest 100-winning chart scorcher Riptide shortly before handing the Aussie troubadour a much-drooled-over support slot for her 2015 Australian tour.

Now Vance has up and returned the favour. To mark the beginning of Tay Tay’s 1989 World Tour, the Melbourne singer-songwriter has saluted the country girl-gone-pop superstar with a haunting rendition of one of his “favourite tracks” from 1989, called I Know Places.

Vancey’s rendish freshens up the paranoid power ballad with a healthy smattering of feels, turning it into something delicate, vibrato-quavery and just so gosh darn sweet it’s almost NSFW if you don’t have a few kleenex handy.

“There have been so many amazing covers of 1989 songs… I’m going to be bold enough to say this one is my favorite”, T-Swift tweeted, giving her official blessing.

It’s almost like Tay Tay and VJ are passing super cute secret love letters to each other. Except via YouTube, and in full view of the entire world.

The pair will be touring Australia together in November and December, where they will no doubt get plenty more chances to soak up each other’s awesomeness. Until then, you can check out their lovely musical tributes to one another, below.
