The Smith Street Band Tease New Music As They Wrap Up Recording

Aussie favourites The Smith Street Band have taken to Facebook to tease fans with new music.

The band posted a video of them in the studio singing, what is presumably, the hook to one of their new songs.

They have spent the past month in a Californian studio with producer Jeff Rosenstock who worked on their last album 2014’s Throw Me In The River.

“We spent the last few weeks recording new music in a wildly beautiful location,” they wrote in a caption accompanying the video.

“Here’s the very last thing we did. We’re very proud of it and can’t wait to share some of it with you soon.”

“Soon” is, of course, a very loose but also promising word for fans that have been hanging out for some new music from the band, their first in two years.

It’s been a busy year for the boys despite not releasing any music. They’ve completed a national tour and played festival slots in the midst of working on the new record.
