What Would It Cost To Book Your Favourite Band?

If you’ve ever wanted to book an international band for your birthday, just like in My Sweet 16, or even if you want to ignore the current industry climate and start your own festival, you’re going to have to spend the big bucks, that’s no surprise. But now we know exactly how much it costs to book some of the biggest names around.

Personally, it has always been a dream of mine to rock up outside a girlfriend’s house with Yellowcard in the tray of my ute playing Ocean Avenue – my ideal proposal situation will set me back around $25k to $30k, even just for the one song. Foo Fighters were my original plan, but at a whopping $300K+, I had to go to my Plan B. Speaking of which, booking Plan B will cost you $5,000.

Andrew W.K can be booked but only for recital halls and only in piano quintet format, but not before he gets his payment of $20K to $25K. Childish Gambino, however, is only available on weekends for a solid $30,000, though you may as well go all out and book Bow Wow for $100,000 and Bone Thugs N Harmony for $30,000. You’ll spend $160,000 but imagine that lineup at your 21st.

If you want to get all 90s, Bill Crosby can come and perform for you for $110,000, which doesn’t seem so bad. Assuming she accepts, you can score a date with Lights for a very reasonable $5,000. Some bands even come at a discount rate if you book two at the same time, such as All American Rejects and Boys Like Girls who together will cost $60K to $75K.

You can check out the full list over here. Serious props to anyone who takes the next step and books one of these bands, and for the head-up, I expect an invite with a +1. Thanks in advance.
