Queenscliff Music Festival 2012 Lineup – First Announcement

For 16 years, Queenscliff Music Festival has been supplying the market with some of the greatest and most chiller surf-coast-vibe events, kicking off in November. It’s now that time of the year where organisers declare it’s time to “fluff up the shagpile, wax up the board and hoon up the highway” as they announce the first round of talent to perform on its 2012 lineup.

The bill is composed of some of the biggest and most popular names around. Headlining the day will be Missy Higgins, one of Australia’s most successful songstresses, who has frequented the event as a punter but never as a performer. Higgins will be joined in the headliner spot by the always-groovy The Cat Empire, who are known for creating one of the greatest times ever through their tasty live set. Also joining them will be Yolngu songman, Gurrumul, who has recently stolen the attention of the world after performing not only for Obama at one point, but also for the Queen. The Gurrumul manager also has the same name as me, fun fact.

QMF, which takes place in Victoria, boasts 60 acts and 150 performances, all happening across 5 stages in the festival area as well as on the “QMF Family Express” historic train and music stages in the town’s unique and beautiful venues – The Queenscliff Inn, Vue Grand Hotel, Lombardys on Hesse and Stoked on Hesse.

For those living on the Mornington Peninsula, the Sorrento-Queenscliff Ferry is offering festivalgoers a great deal – take your car on the ferry to the Festival and your friends ride for free. Information on Accom and transport is in abundance from the Festival’s website

3 Day Tickets are on sale now for a total cost of $204 (includes B/F). Camping is available for just $38 per person for the whole weekend. Single day tickets go on sale August 1st, 2012.
