QOTSA Unveil Interactive ‘Vampyre Of Time And Memory’ Video

Our favourite Californian desert rockers Queens Of The Stone Age have just released the video for their track The Vampyre Of Time And Memory but a normal video it ain’t – this one is a tri-level interactive virtual art installation, made in collaboration with The Creators Project.

We pick up right where we left off in the teaser preview of this creepy as hell little production, which is kind of like being in a survival horror video game but with 73% more taxidermy. The Kii Arens and Jason Trucco-directed production is surreal beauty mixed with creepy horror, with the band performing in three different settings that you can control with the click of your mouse, or if you prefer to be a little less emotionally involved, just check out the director’s cut (below).

Directors Arens and Trucco said they were stoked to be part of what they called “the best rock album in a decade”. “Working on this Queens video was the ultimate artistic joyride. Joshua Homme and company gave us the creative keys to the car from word go… and Josh has a badass car.” Of course he does – would you expect anything less?

Queens Of The Stone Age are heading to Australia next March for a co-headlining show with Nine Inch Nails, celebrating their stellar latest release …Like Clockwork.
