Nine Inch Nails & Queens Of The Stone Age Australian Tour March 2014

Written by Greg Moskovitch on October 10, 2013

Two of the biggest acts in alternative rock, Nine Inch Nails and Queens of the Stone Age, have officially announced their co-headline tour dates for Australia in March 2014, along with ticket info and news of special guest Brody Dalle joining the tour.

It’s been four years since NIN last came to Australia, on the heels of their Wave Goodbye tour, while QOTSA last saw Aussie shores in 2011, when they co-headlined Soundwave Festival with Iron Maiden. Both bands released critically-acclaimed albums this year and teased fans with plans of a co-headline tour just last week.

The Frontier Touring Company, who retweeted a teaser image sent out by both NIN and QOTSA, revealed that they have “LOTS of tour announces” scheduled for this week, further fuelling eager anticipation in fans, who’ve been waiting months to hear tell of Australian tours from both groups.

Earlier this year, NIN frontman Trent Reznor told Aussie fans that NIN would be touring Australia soon, after disappointing fans who were hoping to see them top the Soundwave 2014 bill. Reznor assured Aussie fans: “we love you and we’re coming.”

Meanwhile back in May, Homme told triple j‘s Tom and Alex that he had no desire to do the festival circuit with QOTSA, hoping the band could “tell [their] own stories.” Homme declared Australia his “home away from home.”

Australian-born Brody Dalle – aka Mrs Josh Homme – will be along for the ride. Dalle will open the shows with a full band, playing a selection of songs from her punk rock bands The Distillers and Spinnerette and new songs from her forthcoming solo album.

Pre-sale tickets for this tour will be available on 22nd October via Frontier Touring while general public tickets go on sale 24th October. Full details below.

UPDATE: Second and FINAL shows added for Melbourne and Sydney by popular demand! They’re on sale now too, so get in quick!
