Here We Go Magic are the next in a proud line of Brooklyn bands I’ve written about. Lead by a guy called Luke Temple, Here We Go Magic combine melodic indie rock with some folk and occasional 80’s post-punk. Luke released solo material before being signed to Secretly Canadian Records in 2009. Since then, Here We Go Magic have released Pigeons (2010), The January EP (2011) and their latest offering, A Different Ship, which came out in May of this year. My personal favourite so far has to be How Do I Know whose video was seemingly filmed in the town from Breaking Bad. There are some excellent dance moves on show from husband and Asian robot girl. I’ve embedded Collector from their second to last album, as it will make Franz Ferdinand fans happy.

Listen to Here We Go Magic if you’re into The Maccabees, Bon Iver, Franz Ferdinand, Real Estate and Devo.
