Big Day Out 2013 Lineup Announced Next Week + Dates Revealed

Well it seems that things really are changing for Australia’s biggest and longest running festival. After the questionable success of last year’s installation, the kids at the Big Day Out offices have teamed up with the American mammoth C3 Presents to bring Australia what is set to be the biggest leg yet. Surprising pretty much everyone, it seems that Ken West has broken tradition and chosen to announce the lineup a few months earlier than usual.

Thanks to the folks over at the AUReview, it came to our attention that the festival placed an advert(pictured above) in the nation’s street press, which will be distributed early this week. The festival’s marketing squad have really pulled this out of nowhere, even dropping the dates before the lineup (Melbourne wins this year, scoring Australia Day).

Speculation began ages ago about who would be gracing our shores in January for the funnest festival of the lot, and additionally what changes would actually happen when C3 joined the ranks, working side by side with Ken West’s crew. With lineup predictions ranging from the Red Hot Chili Peppers to Pearl Jam to Kraftwerk, who knows what will happen come next Monday.
