Chester Bennington Is Now Threatening To “Punch” Anyone Who Disses Linkin Park In The “Fucking Mouth”

Chester Bennington is one step closer to edge, and he might be about to break. The singer has delivered a second helping of harsh words to critics of Linkin Park, threatening to personally inflict physical violence upon anyone who dares accuse them of selling out.

Speaking to Kerrang! about the band’s polarising new musical direction, the nu-metal  pop frontman said he wants to “kill” any “fucking pussies” who call his band sell-outs.

“Either you like the song or you don’t and if you don’t like the song because you hear it and on a knee-jerk reaction it’s like ‘oh it doesn’t have metal in it so I don’t like it’, that’s fine, like whatever,” Bennington raged.

“But if you’re gonna be the person who says like ‘they made a marketing decision to make this kind of record to make money’ you can fucking meet me outside and I will punch you in your fucking mouth because that is the wrong fucking answer.”

He continued: “Because guess what, calling us a sell-out for that purpose is… selling out on your fucking excuse as to why you don’t like it. You’re a fucking pussy. For any band to take musical risks because you like what you’re doing in spite of what you know some people will say they don’t like, it doesn’t matter if they like it or not–what matters is that you took the chance to do something that you felt was important to you and that’s what being an artist is all about.”

ICYMI: the nu metal graduates’ latest material ‘Heavy’, ‘Battle Symphony’ and ‘Good Goodbye’ feat. Stormzy & Pusha T sounds a world apart from their seminal 2000 debut Hybrid Theory, and the internet has had ~a lot~ of opinions on the matter.

And after an impassioned rant last month in which he told fans to “move the fuck on from Hyrbrid Theory and to “stab themselves in the face” if they want to go and accuse the band of going commercial, Bennington has continued his battle symphony with a new rant, which — unlike LP’s new sound — is pretty aggressive.

“When you make it personal, like a personal attack against who we are as people, like dude shut up. That means that I can actually have feelings about it and most of the time my feelings are I want to kill you.”

Just spitballing here, but it seems to me like everyone’s problems could be solved if Chester started poring some of that rage into his music again.
