Linkin Park Tease Unreleased Music Featuring Chester Bennington

It looks like Linkin Park are gearing up to release more music from their archives, featuring vocals recorded by the late, great Chester Bennington.

The band have just shared a snippet of a previously unheard track dubbed ‘Friendly Fire’ on their socials, describing it as a “new, unreleased song from the One More Light 2017 sessions”.

Linkin Park – ‘Friendly Fire’ Snippet

The 30-second teaser reveals a lot about the tune, with Bennington switching out his trademark scream for a more clean, melodic vocal style as he sings the lyrics: “We’re falling apart for no reason / We’re pulling the trigger in a useless war / If we go back and go into the black / What are we fighting for? / What are we fighting? / It’s just friendly fire.”

The songs shares the same softer, more introspective, synth-driven pop-rock qualities as many other tracks off One More Light, which was released two months prior to Chester’s tragic passing in 2017.

And while Linkin Park’s teaser post sadly didn’t give us a release date to look forward to, it did come packing the hashtag “FriendlyFireLP”, insinuating a full album of unreleased tracks could be on the way.

We’ll bring you more updates as soon as we have ’em!
