It’s been a hot topic of debate amongst those who concern themselves with such things, but it looks as though the Australian return of City And Colour is only moments away from being announced.
Over the past 24 hours, City And Colour have posted 3 separate posts, more or less one after the other, weakly attempting to disguise the fact that they’re talking about returning to Australia. There were photos of warm beanies and other merch, referring to one of his favourite countries, and in the final clue – a total dead giveaway – they mention having a thirst for Coopers beer, asking who will be buying a round “in 2 weeks” time.
On top of all this, Green has already mentioned July as a possibly for the tour earlier this year. The official tour announcement will apparently coincide with Dallas Green’s Canada Day celebrations. Canada Day being TODAY, we can expect that the dates, cities and venues will be revealed very, very soon.
City And Colour is so hot right now following the overwhelmingly positive reception of his latest record The Hurry And The Harm. This has put demand for a live performance here at an all-time high, though previous attempts at bringing C&C Down Under have gone awry.
Any minute now…
UPDATE: City and Colour have just posted a Facebook update, directly addressing Australia and confirming there will be an announcement at 9am AEST tomorrow, to be delivered in TWO PARTS.
Our guess? Part one will be City and Colour’s Australian headlining tour dates. Part two – Splendour in the Grass Mystery Band announcement. Here’s hoping.
