The auto-tuned retro-futurism of Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories cut Instant Crush has been given the music video treatment. The clip, which you can check out in full down below, stars The Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas (who provides vocals on the track) in a strange museum romance between a young female museum piece and Casablancas’ Napoleonic-soldier replica.
The video is a clear change from previous Random Access Memories clips, such as those produced for Lose Yourself To Dance and Get Lucky, which have tended to show the band playing the songs alongside contributors such as Nile Rodgers and Pharrell. The French duo don’t appear in this clip, but look closely and you’ll see that even their famous metallic helmets are being kept in museum storage.
Daft Punk recently announced that a deluxe box set of their 2013 album Random Access Memories is now available to pre-order. The band’s huge single Get Lucky has now also been deemed the best track of 2013 by NME.
