It’s Finally Happening: Frank Ocean’s New Album Is Dropping This Week

THIS IS NOT A DRILL. WE REPEAT: THIS IS NOT A DRILL.

Frank Ocean‘s new album Boys Don’t Cry is expected to arrive THIS FRIDAY.

That’s right, after months – nay, years – of false alarms, cryptic hints and a fkn rollercoaster ride of emotions, the R&B crooner is finallyyyyyyyyyyy set to release his long-awaited follow-up to 2012’s Channel Orange this Friday, 5th August.

According to the New York Times, the LP will be available exclusively through Apple Music for the first two weeks, before receiving a wider release.

It’ll also come packing a “major video and a printed publication called Boys Don’t Cry that will be distributed at Apple stores”, i.e. this mysterious zine we’ve heard so much about.

The news comes after Ocean’s website was mysteriously updated overnight, hosting what looked to be a live stream of a room with a couple of desks in it, along with the Apple Music logo in the top right hand corner of the screen – suggesting perhaps he would be launching something on the Apple streaming platform.

Now, according to reports, it’s finally happening!

Permission to freak out, granted.

UPDATE 05/08/16: Frank Ocean has reappeared on his Boys Don’t Cry live stream on the day the album is expected to be released. He appears to be building a set of stairs.

UPDATE 19/08/16: Frank Ocean is playing new music on the live stream.
