Kimbra To Collab With The Dillinger Escape Plan Guitarist For New Album

Written by Mike Hohnen on July 28, 2012

Kimbra and Dillinger Escape Plan are two acts that couldn’t be further apart on the musical spectrum. Though in a recent interview with Music Feeds, the soulful pop sensation admitted that a collaboration with the mathcore icons is definitely on the table.

This won’t come as much of a surprise to some, as both Kimbra, and Ben Wienman (Dillinger lead guitarist) have tweeted about eachother’s music. Kimbra has confessed her love of the band a few times via the social network and Wienman even went as far as to refer to the NZ-born musician as his ‘home girl’ in his own tweet.

Kimbra will be heading to Montreal with producer Damien Taylor to begin work on the new release, which will be the much-sort-after follow-up to 2011’s Vow, which has since become an international masterpiece. Wienman apparently tweeted Kimbra proposing a collaboration, something she was obviously stoked on as Dillinger is a band that “was one of my favourites as a teenager.”

Though nothing has been confirmed, it’s looking really good, and will be one of the most interesting collabs we’ve seen recently. Check out some of their tweets below.
