The Dillinger Escape Plan Set for 2024 Reunion Show

The Dillinger Escape Plan, renowned in the metal scene, has announced a reunion concert scheduled for June 21, 2024. The Dillinger Escape Plan will hold their first event since disbanding in 2017 at the Brooklyn Paramount theatre in New York. Celebrating the 25th anniversary of their debut album, Calculating Infinity, the concert is a significant moment for the band and its fans. In a unique experience for the audience, the band plans to play the entire Calculating Infinity album, a first in their history.

The performance will feature the original lineup, including vocalist Dimitri Minakakis, who co-founded the band in 1997 and was part of its early success before leaving in 2001. Joining him are founding guitarist Ben Weinman, bassist Liam Wilson, and drummer Billy Rymer.

Minakakis shared his excitement about the reunion, reflecting on the journey since the album’s creation. “It’s been a long time coming for this opportunity to perform in a project I helped create over 25 years ago,” he said. “Celebrating 25 years of ‘Calculating Infinity’ with my closest friends is a dream turned real.” He emphasized the band’s significance beyond music, describing them as “a force of nature.”

Weinman also spoke about the reunion, highlighting the impact of the band’s early years with Minakakis and their continued evolution. The Dillinger Escape Plan, after going on an “extended hiatus” following their 2016 album Dissociation, played their final shows in December 2017 at New York’s Terminal 5, with Minakakis joining for the last two concerts.

Calculating Infinity earns recognition for its eclectic mix of metal, prog, jazz, and punk, securing a place in Rolling Stone’s list of the 100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time. The reunion concert not only celebrates this acclaimed album but also offers fans a chance to reconnect with a pivotal part of the band’s history. Tickets are available from December 15, 2023 at 10 a.m. ET.
