Lil’ Wayne Reportedly On Life Support In LA Hospital

Written by Kiel Egging on March 16, 2013

Lil’ Wayne is reportedly on life support and in an induced coma after being re-admitted to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in LA following another series of intense seizure attacks.

TMZ reports that Wayne is back in intensive care in a critical condition, so much so that he is “being prepared for his last rites… with his family surrounding him to say their goodbyes”.

The outlet also reports that the rapper’s mother is currently on a plane to Los Angeles, and that “all major decisions about Wayne’s health (including the decision to discontinue life support) will not be made until she arrives”.

However, a few hours later, a couple of tweets from some of Wayne’s pals indicated quite the opposite.

As reported by BillboardMack Maine, president of Wayne’s record label Young Money, has tweeted that the rapper is “alive and well”, and for fans to not “believe the nonsense about comas and tubes to breathe…that’s false!”

Wayne’s label mate Birdman has also added his thoughts, tweeting that the rapper is “in good spirit..feelin much betta”. Check out the tweets at the bottom of the page.

As reported earlier this week, Lil’ Wayne was rushed to the hospital on Tuesday, 12th March and discharged after several hours on Wednesday, 13th March.

However, it was reported that just hours later one of his bodyguards found Wayne in his room, on the floor and unconscious, and that the rapper did not stabilise, and was taken to the hospital’s intensive care unit, where he was “placed in restraints because he was shaking uncontrollably”.

Sources have told TMZ that the scene at the hospital is “violent as Wayne shakes uncontrollably”, and the rapper is currently breathing through tubes. As mentioned earlier, this is something Mack Maine denies.

It is also believed Wayne went on a Sizzurp binge after being discharged on Wednesday, as doctors at the hospital found high amounts of codeine in his system. Wayne’s stomach was pumped 3 times to flush the drugs from his system.

Music Feeds will have more on this story as the news breaks from the States.

UPDATE – 1.30PM: Lil Wayne has tweeted that he is feeling “good”, and thanked everyone for their “prayers and wishes.” TMZ finds this a bit weird as the hospital told them the rapper is sleeping at the moment.
