Pendulum Will Play Their Sold-Out Sydney Show Tonight Without Rob Swire On Vocals

NB: this article has been updated with a new statement from the band.

Sydney fans headed along to Pendulum‘s sold-out show at the Enmore Theatre tonight will also find themselves performing lead vocals for the band, because singer Rob Swire has been sidelined from his singing duties due to a medical emergency.

The electro-rockers considered cancelling tonight’s gig after learning their frontman was suffering an “acute vocal haemorrhage” and was forbidden by doctors from singing (or even talking).

But, after lengthy discussions, the drum and bass pioneers decided they didn’t want to break their clean streak of zero show cancellations, and have decided to plough ahead with tonight’s show — their first Sydney performance in eight years — regardless, recruiting fans to sing along to Rob’s parts in an unquestionably ballsy makeshift performance.

They’ve issued an updated statement confirming that Rob will still be performing tonight wth the full band, just not singing:

Fans who want to go the refund route can obtain one by contacting Frontier Touring.

Everyone else is definitely in for an unorthodox show!

Doors are at 7.15pm with support band Earthlings kicking things off at 8pm.
