UPDATE 23/09/16: UK Grime act Stormzy has pulled out of Listen Out and all remaining live shows in 2016, citing reasons out of his control.
ORIGINAL STORY: Victoria Police has issued a warning to punters attending Listen Out festival in Melbourne and Perth this weekend, where officers will be looking out for any shifty activity.
Police want you to know they’ll be all over this weekend’s event the same way that L D R U is all over every bloody festival lineup in the country right now, and their sniffer dog m8s will be stationed at every key entry point, targeting anyone trying to smuggle in illicit drugs.
Police say they’ll also be cracking down on “disruptive crowd behaviour”, “anti-social behaviour” and “alcohol related issues”, so don’t be a dickhead and you shouldn’t have an issue.
In a statement, Senior Constable Dylan Tate warns would-be troublemakers that there’ll be “nowhere to hide”.
“While we expect the majority of festival attendees will do the right thing, we have zero tolerance for illegal activity,” he says.
“Anyone bringing illicit drugs to the festivals can expect a swift police response.”
Police have also urged y’all to plan your trips in advance and make sure you pay attention to “your own safety and the safety of others”.
“Use public transport where needed and look out for your mates. We want everyone to get home safely,” Tate says.
