Splendour In The Grass 2016 Lineup

UPDATE 29/03/17: The 2017 Splendour In The Grass lineup has finally been unveiled!

ORIGINAL STORY: There have been fake leaks, bands opening their mouths too early and acts ruled out by the dozen but finally we have the Splendour In The Grass lineup for 2016.

This year organisers have pulled together a damn fine lineup lead by the likes of English rockers The Cure, The Strokes, a reunited At The Drive In, James Blake, Santigold, Sigur Ros, Jake Bugg and The Kills.

Also playing will be Jack Garratt, Snakehips, Leon Bridges and The Internet, Years And Years, Peter, Bjorn & John and Tegan & Sara, to name but a few.

As always, Splendour delivers a strong local lineup and they haven’t disappointed this year, with the likes of Flume, Boy & Bear, Sticky Fingers, Courtney Barnett, Violent Soho, Sampa The Great, Hermitude, Matt Corby, Illy, Ball Park Music, The Preatures, Gang of Youths, Ngaiire and DMA’s.

Splendour 2016 will also see the onstage return of The Avalanches who teased a comeback of sorts yesterday sending hopes for that illusive second album through the roof.

Last year’s lineup saw Mark Ronson, Florence + The Machine and Blur all head to Byron Bay for the festival which will forever be known as one of the muddiest Splendours on record.

Obviously we can’t predict the weather for the weekend just yet, but the excellent lineup is the first step in justifying a trip to Byron Bay in the midst on winter.

Splendour In The Grass will run from Friday, 22nd July to Sunday 24th July at its permanent home of North Byron Parklands.

Tickets go on sale Thursday 21st April at 9am. See the full lineup below.
