Tame Impala Call Out Chinese Milk Company For Ripping Off Their Music In New Ad

Tame Impala have called out a Chinese milk company for ripping off their song ‘The Less I Know The Better’ in a new advertising campaign, and appear to have threatened the ad’s producers with a lawsuit.

Taking to Instagram today, Tame Impala mastermind Kevin Parker shared a copy of the ad, which features a song which appears to be a cheap cover of the Current track. Captioning the post, Parker writes, “I mean COME ON guys at least put some effort in. #Lawsuit #nowitsmyturn.”

Parker also tagged music publishing company Sony ATV in his post. Music Feeds has contacted Tame Impala’s management and Sony ATV Australia for comment.

The ad, which appears to be for a brand of blueberry-infused milk, can be seen below alongside the original version of Tame Impala’s ‘The Less I Know The Better’.

This isn’t the first time someone’s tried to rip off Tame Impala’s music. Earlier this month, American band Paramore even admitted that they tried (and failed) to “rip off” Tame Impala on their upcoming new album.
