The Dwarves Tour Australia In October

Written by Daniel Clarke on July 27, 2009

Celebrating their twenty five year anniversary and with a new album titled ‘The Dwarves Are Born Again’ in the works, US punk rock legends The Dwarves will make their third trip to Australia in October. The Dwarves remain one of the most bizarre and misunderstood bands of all time. Their music redefines the limits of rock, touching every genre and style from hardcore and pop punk to garage and surf, hip/hop, death metal, noise and beyond.

Born in Illinois in the mid 80’s as a paisley garage band, by 1989 they had morphed into fire breathing California grunge icons, releasing their seminal “Blood, Guts and Pussy” album on Sub Pop. Performing with many top acts and spanning the globe The Dwarves gained a reputation for live madness and mayhem that follows them to this day.

“The Dwarves are Young and Good Looking” and “The Dwarves Come Clean” were released by Epitaph during the 1990’s cementing the bands reputation as hardcore heroes while introducing a pop sensibility that both titillated and confounded their fans. Numerous other album, single and video releases have also excited and horrified people the world over, a response that is sure to be repeated when “The Dwarves Are Born Again” drops.

The Dwarves bring their notorious live show back to Australia this October, with Bloodduster joining them as special guests in Sydney and Melbourne.
