Trent Reznor has picked up a nomination for his joint composer score for David Fincher’s The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo with Atticus Ross. The nomination is for Best Original Score – Motion Picture, the same category for which they won an Oscar after writing a score for Fincher’s The Social Network.
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is set to hit cinemas on December 21st. The film is an English-language film adaptation of the 2005 novel by Stieg Larsson. The film is the second adaptation, the first being the 2009 Swedish-language film. The English-language film is directed by David Fincher based on an adapted screenplay by Steven Zaillian. In early 2010, producer Scott Rudin began developing the project under Columbia Pictures.
Last week Reznor stated that he now wants to spend a good portion of next year on NIN and hopefully release the first new material since 2008’s The Slip (maybe also produced by Atticus Ross).
