Odd Future’s Tyler The Creator has been arrested while playing a holiday gig at the Roxy on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles. Staff at the Roxy called police after Tyler started trashing sound equipment midway through his set. It is also alleged that he punched a sound guy; staff at the venue told police ‘he destroyed an electric soundboard belonging to the venue’.
Police were forced to call for back-up after the crowd flocked to the street chanting ‘Free Tyler’; you can watch videos of the arrest below.
Tyler’s mother, who attended the gig, joined the crowd shouting abuse at the police as her son was arrested.
Just over an hour ago Tyler tweeted denying he had been arrested:
@fucktyler: Whoa, Its Stories On Me Being In Jail? The Fuck? I Wasnt In No Jail Or Arrested Or Nothing.
This isn’t the first time the Odd Future boss has been in trouble with the law; he was arrested in May for disturbing the peace while promoting his solo album Goblin at Westchester High School.
