This was always going to happen, because mashing up Lionel Richie‘s 1984 hit Hello and Adele‘s fresh new single of the same name is just too darn good an opportunity for the internet to pass up.
The geniuses over at Blend TV have dropped a new mashup called ‘Lionel Calls Adele to Say Hello’ (below), in which Richie does indeed call the British singer, only to be knocked back by her and the super-cool flip phone featured in her new music video.
With Lionel Richie and Adele’s mini-mashup now complete, we sit in waiting for either a full mashup of both tracks or a real-world collaboration — we can dream, right? Catch ‘Lionel Calls Adele to Say Hello’ along with a couple of other fresh Adele memes, below.
The world lost its collective shit last night when Adele finally released Hello, her first single in three years and the first track to be lifted from her long-awaited forthcoming album 25, which is due out on Friday, 20th November.
