Brand New have confirmed new recording sessions have begun on the long-awaited follow-up to their 2009 album, Daisy, by posting an image of themselves at work in the recording studio on Instagram. The band had previously hinted at a new album in an update posted to their website.
“A lot has gone on the last few weeks. Some writing, some recording, some new gear, some studio building,” wrote the Long Island rockers. Indeed, the band had previously taken to Instagram to share images of their new speaker cabinets, though little suggested a new album was forthcoming.
In May 2012, Music Feeds reported on months worth of studio time the band had booked but that ultimately proved fruitless. At the time, frontman Jesse Lacey assured fans that while the sessions did not yield a new full-length album, the band was still planning on recording a follow-up to Daisy.
Meanwhile, the band has kept busy on the live front, recently announcing a US show with Weezer. Asked about the possibility of a Soundwave appearance, AJ Maddah said that headline tours are “in the works” for Brand New and Manchester Orchestra, whose dates were recently announced.
