Alice Ivy Shares 2024 Tour Dates, Sets Release Date For New Album

Alice Ivy has announced a national Australian tour in support of her upcoming third studio album, Do What Makes You Happy. The tour will take place in June 2024, coinciding with the album’s officially-set release date of Friday June 21st. To coincide with the tour announcement and the set date for the new album, Ivy has shared another single from it which can be heard below.

‘Criminal’, the fourth single to be lifted from Do What Makes You Happy, features rapper BJ The Chicago Kid and Nigerian-American musician Kah-Lo. The latter noted in a press statement that the song came together after they met while performing at Splendour In The Grass, and that he was “so glad [they] got to create this gem of a track together”.

“It’s so fun,” he said. “[It] reminds me of a James Bond theme [with] pop exploration.” Ivy, for her part, described the song as a “big dance banger”. She added that BJ’s feature on the song came from some stems sent to her by production group The Knocks, who had some unused verses from him left over from their album sessions.

“I dropped them in, made a couple of tweaks, and it worked perfectly,” she said. “That so rarely happens; they were in the same key and almost at the same tempo.”

Ivy originally announced Do What Makes You Happy in June of 2023. Its announcement coincided with the release of its lead single  ‘Howling’ At The New Moon’, featuring Mayer Hawthorne. This was followed by ‘Broke My Heart’ (featuring Mallrat and Jelani Blackman) in September and ‘Wildlife’ in December. Last month saw Ivy share ‘Popstar’, a collaboration with English singer Låpsley.

Ivy’s headlining tour will begin in Adelaide on album release day and take her through a further five dates into mid-July. Ahead of her run of headlining shows, Ivy is also set to tour regionally in May as main support for San Cisco on their Under The Light tour.
