Gyroscope Are Back With New Tunes On EP ‘4YRLV’ & National Tour Dates

Perth rockers, Gyroscope have dropped an EP this morning, 4YRLV. Pronounced, “for your love”, the release is a tasty, three song treat.

Kicking off with the title track, ‘4YRLV’ is all fuzzy and grungy with urgent, angsty vocals and really fun percussion. The two other tracks: ‘Bloodstreams’ and ‘I Am The Night’ round out the EP. They’re less grungy and urgent and a little more ‘older’ Gyroscope.

Celebrating the release of the EP, they’ve also announced some national tour dates. Kicking off late next month and trickling into November, Gyroscope will take 4YRLV around Australia — including a couple of regional stops.

The news is bittersweet though. The band is also announcing that longtime member of the group and drummer, Rob Nassif will be departing the band. He’ll be saying his goodbyes on the ‘4YRLV’ tour after 20 years.

In a statement, Nassif says that saying goodbye was never going to be easy. “The fact I get to lap this country one last time to play for you all will be very special. Thanks to all the fans who’s love of our band has enriched my life in so many ways.

“Quite simply, playing in Gyroscope has been one of the highlights of my life and I will treasure the memories we’ve created. Living overseas the past few years has made creating new music challenging and I am happy that the boys will be continuing on, no doubt writing some brilliant new songs. Onwards and upwards lads!”
