The National Postpones Upcoming Australian Tour

The National were set to kick off their Australian tour this weekend. In light of the travel restrictions and bans of gatherings with more than 500 people, they’ve had to postpone this month’s dates.

All of this month’s dates have been rescheduled for December. They shared the news along with a statement via Facebook.

“The COVID-19 outbreak has led to a challenging few weeks for everyone. We have been monitoring the situation daily with our management & promoter partners. The recent rulings on international travel, the need to self-isolate and to cancel events of over 500 people have unfortunately made postponement of the shows the best present outcome.

“We have a responsibility to our dedicated audiences, to our amazing crew, to our families at home, and to ourselves to take precautions in the interest of health and safety.

“For these reasons we are moving our New Zealand and Australian performances with Phoebe Bridgers into December. We look forward very much to seeing you all at the end of the year.”

The National have said that all previously purchased Australian tour tickets will be honoured at the rescheduled dates. If you’re unable to attend, the band has advised you’ll need to contact the ticketing company no later than next Friday, 27th March at midnight.

Regarding Sydney’s dates, the ticketing company has said, “due to the band’s availability, there will now only be one Sydney date and you will be reissued new tickets for this single night.

New Zealand ticket holders have been advised that they’ll hear from Ticketmaster.
