PREMIERE: Lokett’s New Single ‘Look Up’ Is Faded, Blissed Out R&B At Its Finest

Brisbane artist Lokett’s latest single, ‘Look Up, is the kind of hazy yet heartfelt R&B that sits in the same ballpark as the likes of SZA and H.E.R.

Following her debut last year with ‘Don’t Run’, the new song features sublimely blissed out instrumentals courtesy of Lokett and co-producer, fellow Brisbanite Tomtom, full of warm synths and understated percussion. It all serves as an ideal backdrop for the songwriter’s soulful vocals, which glide just above.

Lyrically, ‘Look Up’ is all about finding the positive energy to manifest change.

“This song was made to fight back any negative thoughts or feelings about being held back and dealing with unwanted change,” says Lokett.

“Originally, this was a personal anthem [now] made into one for others to relate to and feel more empowered about change. ‘Look Up’ is giving a new perspective on how to address [that] change.”
