Violent Soho Take Out Their Second #1 Album In A Row With ‘Everything Is A-OK’

Violent Soho have claimed their second consecutive #1 album in a row, with their latest, Everything Is A-OK, debuting at the top slot on the ARIA Albums chart.

With the debut, the Queensland punks knocked off Sydney pop-punk group 5 Seconds of Summer, who had previously held the spot with latest album CALM.

The band had a brief statement on the news, commenting simply, “We’re stoked!”

Violent Soho’s last album, 2016’s Waco, also peaked at #1 on the charts – not to mention going on to win ARIA Awards for both Best Group and Best Rock Album with the release.

“Congratulations to James, Luke, Luke, Michael and the entire Violent Soho team on their return to #1 on the ARIA Charts,” Dan Rosen, ARIA CEO said. “Everything Is A-OK is the album title we all need to believe in right now. It’s an incredible achievement to reach #1, especially by a band who is known for their hard work on the road, and direct connection to their fans.”

In our interview with the band’s James Tidswell earlier this month, the guitarist talked about making the album first and foremost for the band themselves.

“With this one, we’ve made it for ourselves and focussed on making it truly a band record. We’d like to think that you can hear the growth of the musicianship and the songwriting,” he said.

“We just wanted to make it clear that we went all-in on ourselves with no compromise, and made a record that we can all be proud of.”
