Watch Dave Grohl Play A Dire Straits Classic With A Superfan On Instagram Live

Even in isolation, Dave Grohl continues to be one of the best people in music – nay! in general! – as his latest act of kindness has seen him surprise a superfan on Instagram Live and jam out with him.

As reported by Consequence Of Sound, Philadelphia’s Pat Finnerty got the surprise as part of the latest instalment of his IG Live series where he learns to play a classic track in the space of an hour.

However, Finnerty upped the stakes when he decided to embark on a 24-hour ‘Grohl-A-Thon’, where he had the sole intent of reaching the man/myth/legend himself. And, because nothing misses Dave Grohl, the Foo Fighters-frontman joined the live-stream about nine hours in.

Grohl was attending a dinner party at friend and actor at the home of Andrew Sikking –  whose account was used to make the request to join the live – and was armed and ready at a drum set.

After some chatting, the two went in to play ‘Money For Nothing’ by Dire Straits, which apparently had been some inside joke for Finnerty.

Watch the full 20 minute appearance of Grohl on the ‘Grohl-A-Thon’ below.
