Freak Slug have announced a trio of east-coast headlining shows for October 2025, as part of their ongoing Big Candles world tour. The UK indie-rock project, revolving around singer-songwriter Xenya Genovese, were announced earlier this year as being part of the line-up for this year’s SXSW Sydney – making their debut in Australia in the process. The full tour schedule can be found below.
In addition to performing in Australia, Genovese and her band will also head to New Zealand for the very first time. Following their appearance at SXSW Sydney, the Manchester-based project will head to San Fran in Wellington on Monday, October 20th and the Tuning Fork in Auckland the following day on Tuesday, October 21st. Freak Slug – ‘Killer’
Freak Slug released their debut album, I Blow Out Big Candles, in November 2024. A deluxe version was then released back in March. Thus far, the Big Candles world tour has taken Genovese and co. throughout North America, their native UK and mainland Europe – including SXSW in Austin, Texas. SXSW Sydney is set to run from Monday, October 13th to Sunday, October 19th across various venues and locations across the city’s CBD. Jasmine.4.t, Pivots and Cardinals will also perform.
