Harvey Sutherland Announces New Album ‘Debt’, Shares Single + Tour Dates

Naarm/Melbourne groove wizard Harvey Sutherland is officially back in business – and he’s got some receipts. The producer, DJ and synth-lord has just announced his new album Debt, dropping Friday, 10th October via his own label Clarity Recordings, alongside a run of national tour dates and a brand new single to boot.

Fresh track ‘Body Language’ features none other than Julian Hamilton of The Presets. It’s a swirling, kaleidoscopic bop stacked with Harvey’s signature micro-funk textures and Julian’s silky vocal hooks, born the old-fashioned way – just two legends in a studio, vibing it out.

Harvey Sutherland – ‘Body Language’ ft. Julian Hamilton

“I kept hearing the words ‘reading your body language’ in Jules’ early phrases, so we just kept pushing at it,” Harvey explains in a press statement. “Nice to do things old-school with one of the great Australian songwriters.”

Julian’s verdict? “Easy, fun – and I can hear that joy in the finished song.”

The new track marks our first taste of Debt, Harvey’s second LP and the follow-up to 2022’s much-lauded debut Boy – AKA the “neurotic funk” record that catapulted him to tour with Hot Chip, remix Disclosure and Chromeo, and score ARIA nods, rave reviews and club love from Jamie xx to BBC Radio 1.

It’s forthcoming follow-up Debt is billed a sharp-eyed reflection on the real cost of being an artist in 2025 – financial, emotional and creative. And to celebrate its release, Harvey’s hitting the road with a brand new live A/V show, hitting Byron Bay, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney this November.
