Well, it’s not so much of a surprise, but still awesome! The Red Hot Chili Peppers are headlining The Big Day Out 2013. Flea and Anthony have taken the time to record a quick video for fans in support of the news.
The band have been red hot favourites for the event after the coincidences seemed to just pile up: first with the band confirming they’ll be here, and again when they appeared in the headlining slot for Austin City Limits, another festival currently organised under the watchful eye of promotions powerhouse C3 Promotions.

But that doesn’t take away from the fact that this will be the first time that we will have the chance to see the band in 6 years. They will be joining Big Day Out alumni such as Metallica, Nirvana, Tool, The Chemical Brothers and in fact themselves, as the Chili Willies headlined BDO back in 2000.
