It almost feels like summer is almost here now that the Big Day Out have announced their initial lineup for next year’s event. While it’s only mid July and the weathers still colder than a penguin’s nutsack, the traditional rush to grab those festival tickets is already upon us as they go on sale tonight around each city at different times.
Unfortunately, New Zealand miss out on this year’s event, but on the plus side Sydney, Melbourne, Gold Coast, Adelaide and Perth will all get the full event in their cities. Teaming up this year with C3 Presents, around 37 acts have been announced, including The Killers, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Animal Collective, Vampire Weekend and of course the Red Hot Chili Peppers, who won’t be doing any other Australian shows.
Pre-sale tickets went on sale Monday morning and sold out in a matter of hours. This is a good sign for Big Day Out organisers, but a worrying sign for punters who think it will be an easy task to grab up their tickets. We expect a frenzy of people trying to get onto the Big Day Out official website, that’s why we’ve given you direct links and info on how to secure your tickets.
The standard General Admission tickets are a flat $165 and no extra fees or anything like that. But for those who want something more, the premium ‘Like A Boss’ ticket will go sale at $265 (Must be 18 and over).
