Music Feeds Podcast Episode #80 – Cults

Things have been increasingly hectic in the Cults camp, with the New York indie duo still garnering praise for their sophomore effort, Static, and currently gearing up to play Groovin The Moo and a string of sideshows. Though Brian Oblivion tells us they’re not in a state of permanent jet-lag yet.

“We’ve been there for short amounts of time, but we’re pros now. I watch some bands and the way that they party is just beyond me. I’ve seen bands on the high end, who live this life of constant debauchery and then they show up in the morning and there’ll be a doctor there with IV bags.”

Brian details his excitement in returning to Australia, explaining that the band fell in love with the country while on the Laneway tour. He says our events are “the most fun, because they idea of a festival that travels with the same artists every night is not really something that exists in the States.”

“The ability to bond with different artists and have an enduring friendship or a pack of people that you get to hang out with everyday for three weeks is something you only get there,” he says. “And you guys are very gracious. You mostly on play on weekends, so you have days to just explore.”
