155 People Arrested For Drug Offences At Field Day 2019

Police have handed down their crime report following a high-visibility operation at Field Day 2019, announcing that a grand total of 155 punters have been arrested on drug offences.

That’s down from last year’s total of 174, marking a slight improvement.

Of the 28,000 who came to watch CHVRCHES, Cardi B, RÜFÜS DU SOL, Amy Shark, Flight Facilities, Alice Ivy and more rock The Domain on January 1st, six were caught with large enough quantities of naughty substances to warrant drug supply charges, including a 21-year-old man from Kellyville Ridge who allegedly assaulted police after he was collared with 40 MDMA caps.

Police also ejected 41 people for intoxication, and issued five Field Court Attendance Notices for assault.

A 21-year-old Gold Coast man will front court next month, accused of assaulting a 20-year-old woman at the event.

Four people were also hospitalised for drug-related issues, but thankfully nobody died.

Sadly the same can not be said for NSW’s Lost Paradise or Victoria’s Beyond The Valley festival, which were both marred by tragic drug-related fatalities this summer.
