1927 and Boom Crash Opera Announce 2024 National Tour

Nineteen-eighties and nineties pop-rock outfits 1927 and Boom Crash Opera will hit the road together in autumn 2024. The dual headline run is nicknamed ‘The Best Things on Tour’, and it’ll take the two bands to Geelong, Adelaide, Frankston, Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Perth, Sydney and Thirroul throughout March and early April.

In the meantime, Boom Crash Opera will head to Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane as part of the 2023 Good Things festival – BCO will play the penultimate set on stage 4 on all three dates, with Frenzal Rhomb to follow. 1927 were due to perform at Maximum 80s at Kryal Castle, Ballarat, alongside Eurogliders, Chantoozies and more. However, the event has been postponed, with a new date to be announced.

1927 – ‘If I Could’

1927 and Boom Crash Opera are regulars on the touring circuit, even if their heydays are long behind them. Boom Crash Opera are best-known for songs such as ‘Dancing In the Storm’ and ‘Onionskin’ from 1989’s These Here Are Crazy Times, as well as their debut single from 1986, ‘Great Wall’.

1927 opened their career with the singles ‘That’s When I Think Of You’ and ‘If I Could’, both of which appeared on their 1988 debut album, …Ish. Two more albums were to follow – The Other Side in 1990 and 1927 in 1992 – before the band broke up in 1993. They’ve been back at it since 2009.
