35 Drug Arrests At Sydney Dance Music Festival

A whopping 35 people have been charged with drug offences at Knockout Circuz, a Sydney dance music festival.

Among them, a 20-year-old woman was allegedly caught with (we shit you not) 879 capsules of MDMA, while a 21-year-old man had 200 MDMA caps seized.

Another man, aged 19, was allegedly found hoarding 103.

As Fairfax reports, both men have been charged with drug supply and granted conditional bail, while the woman will remain behind bars after her bail got denied.

Over 5,000 punters attended the event at Sydney’s Hordern Pavillion on Saturday night, which was billed as one of “the most spectacular and intense indoor rave arena’s [Harder Styles United] has ever created”.

Last week, organisers Harder Styles United used their Facebook page to warn partygoers of the drug operation, and remind them to “take care of one another”.

Three people were also reportedly treated at the scene by paramedics, before being taken to hospital.

The whole thing follows a number of drug-related deaths at dance music festivals recently, including one at Stereosonic in Sydney and another in Adelaide.

The deaths have prompted numerous calls for drug-checking at music festivals and a complete conceptual overhaul of ‘the war on drugs’.
