Adele fans around the world are speculating that the English singer could be teasing a new era of music due to a number of mysterious billboards donning the number 30 popping up around the world.
The billboards, which have appeared outside the Palace of Westminster, the Empire State Building, the Colosseum, and the Louvre, read only the singular number.
If the title’s of Adele’s last albums are anything to go by – 19, 21 and 25 respectively – it’s a very plausible theory. No official details of the record have been released just yet, but the theory is blowing up the internet.
Though Adele is currently 33 years old, she has previously said that the release of her fourth record has been delayed for some time now, so it is possible that the album was first recorded when she was 30, but will be released at a later time.
Fans have been quick to pick up many subtleties behind the marketing, including an Instagram post the singer made in 2019 that all-but-confirms the album’s title.
“30 will be a drum n bass record to spite you,” the singer joked.
Fans have also pointed out that Adele’s close friend Jedidah Jenkins, has been liking posts on social media about the mysterious ’30’ signs popping up around the world.
Adele’s third record 25 was released in 2015. It’s been six years since she’s released any music, so a new album could very well be just over the horizon.
