Adele revealed over the weekend that she would be cancelling all appearances to undergo surgery on her throat. Following the announcement rumours broke out on Twitter claiming that the singer may have throat cancer. No one knows where the rumour started, but an Adele representative has denied she has any form of cancer, telling Usmagazine:
We would like to reiterate that Adele is to undergo surgery for a hemorrhaged vocal chord. All reports regarding any other condition are 100 percent false.
Adele has cancelled all her shows and public appearances for 2011 and could be recovering from the surgery for up to a year. Her management issued a statement over the weekend:
It is with deep regret that Adele has been forced to cancel her remaining live dates and promotional appearances in 2011. She is to undergo surgery to alleviate the current issues with her throat – and a full recovery is expected.
