Alex Lahey Did ‘Welcome To The Black Parade’ For Like A Version And OMG

Okay so 2019 has seen Denzel Curry do Rage Against The Machine, Ceres do ‘A Thousand Miles’, and Cub Sport take on Billie Eilish. So it’s a big call, but I reckon this is THE Like a Version of the year. Alex Lahey —and a bunch of pals— have given us a rendition of My Chemical Romance’s ‘Welcome To The Black Parade’.

First of all, Alex Lahey’s vocals bring a whole new sound to the emo anthem. It’s just a touch more composed than Gerard Way’s and shakes up the track in a really cool way. Not to mention, the delivery of “we’ll carry on”. Then you’ve got G Flip on the symbols and guest vocals — keep an eye out for her in the video… She’s the one having the time of her bloody life. Then you’ve got Clio on the keys lending vocals too and oh my god.

There’s also a really special ‘shoo bop shoo bop’ snippet in there.

We also received an Alex Lahey original ‘Misery Guts’ from her album, The Best of Luck Club.

Alex Lahey is blessing regional Australia with a spin of the album starting next month too. You can check out the dates here.
