Another Band Has Just Been Locked In For Soundwave 2016

UPDATE 17/12/15 5.50pm: Soundwave 2016 has been officially cancelled.

Sydney’s metalcore shooting stars Northlane have just become the second act locked in for Soundwave 2016, less than a month after this year’s event officially wrapped.

The now Marcus Bridge-fronted fivesome hailed down the Soundwave boss on Twitter, with the message, “We’d love to be playing #SW16 if you’ll have us @iamnotshouting – last time was amazing!” To which Maddah replied, “Of course guys! #SW16 is shaping up to be a big one!”

Northlane seem to be out to corner the market on music festivals, recently being announced as part of the lineup for Australia’s Groovin The Moo 2015 and the juggernaut international Download Festival.

The first act confirmed by festival boss AJ Maddah for the 2016 instalment was Mansfield’s finest, Violent Soho, whom he said he was “very proud to have” onboard.

Big it may be, although not, it seems, for Adelaide, after Maddah previously announced that this year’s Adelaide Soundwave would be its “last ever”. And it won’t be as big in terms of the space-time continuum either, with Soundwave angling to return to its one-day format from next year as well.

Maddah’s also promising “exciting news” for #SW16 in the not too distant future, possibly as soon as Friday. It seems planning for Soundwave 2016 is already in full swing.
