At The Drive In Reunion Is Omar’s Way Of Saying Sorry

Omar Rodriguez-Lopez has said he was very ‘self-centered’ when he broke up At The Drive In. He sees the reunion tour as a way to right his wrongs with his band mates and to put it all behind them.

Speaking with BBC Omar said it was The Mars Volta/At The Drive In frontman Cedric Bixler-Zavala who convinced him to go ahead with the At The Drive In reunion:

He Said [Cedric], I know The Mars Volta is your baby and it’s always been your vision but lighten up, it’s 11 years later and it could be fun’. And I’m glad he did that…It’s a way to right my wrongs. When I split up the band I was very young and self-centered.

Yesterday The Mars Volta released the full version of their new song named The Malkin Jewel. The track will appear on the band’s upcoming new album Noctourniquet, which is due out on the 27th March, you can check it out here.
