Azealia Banks Twitter Rant #400, Labels Dolce & Gabbana Collection ‘Racist’

Azealia Banks has been at it again recently. Once more, Banks took to her ever-vocal Twitter account to voice her frustration at another injustice, this time aimed at fashion staple Dolce & Gabbana.

D&G have started to make headlines around the world after a collection that was paraded in Milan last week left a bad taste in many mouths. Most of the items in the collection depict designs or prints that have racist undertones. Though designers claim that the black faces that appear on the clothes and accessories are in reference to their Sicilian heritage, it would seem to the untrained eye that they were just being racist for the sake of being edgy.

Banks was certainly rubbed the wrong way by the selection of outfits that display “black mammy” imagery with single tone skin, unrealistically bright lips, and a head kerchief with a fruit rim. The rapper unleashed at the brand, via Twitter, declaring it officially boycotted on her behalf.

Here’s hoping that no one unknowingly wears the range around Banks. Judging by the tweets, that situation is not going to go down smoothly.

In other Banks-related news, the hip hop prodigy will be returning Down Under for next year’s Future Music Festival.
