Band Of Skulls were last in the country for a run of east coast shows in June, in celebration of their third studio album, Himalayan, which was released in March 2014. Catch the music video for their most recent single, Himalayan‘s title track, below.
The band took some time out to speak with Music Feeds during their time in the country earlier this year, telling Mike Hohnen that they are a live band through and through. “We’re a live band and that’s where it starts. And so we always try and maintain that with everything we do now,” said drummer Matt Hayward.
“We’re not ones to try and re-create the record onstage, we want the two things to be different beasts. Every night it’s changing and evolving and that’s what makes it exciting for us and hopefully for people who come and watch.”
When Band Of Skulls head down under in 2015, the group will have recently completed tours of the UK and Europe behind the release of Himalayan. Once they’re in Australia, the band will tour with Bluesfest, but will also be supporting garage-rock heavyweights The Black Keys on their Rolling Green headline dates.
Band Of Skulls’ Bluesfest 2015 sideshows will take place in Melbourne on Tuesday, 7th April, and Sydney on Thursday, 9th April. Full tour and ticket details are available below.
