Well the official Big Day Out 2013 lineup has dropped and many punters will probably be off to bed soon, many of which with a big smile on their faces. And for those who have just woken up and are yet to read this – catch up quick so you know what everyone’s going on about!
After a very traumatic 2011 leg of the franchise, there was a lot of doubt as together BDO would be able to wipe the slate clean and deliver a quality event like in previous years. However, where there was doubt, there is now certainty that BDO has returned with a line up that could see the festival maintain its status as an Australian institution.
Once again, the official poster contains a string of artists touching on all spheres of genre, we have EDM, Indie rock, Punk, Metal, Hip Hop and everything that goes in between. Many artists such as Alabama Shakes, Childish Gambino, Logo, Death Grip, Adventure Club and Gary Clark Jr. will be making their debut journey down under, and other acts on the bill such as Crystal Castles, Against Me!, RHCP and The Killers have toured previously, some of which with BDO in previous years.
So, from the general consensus of fan’s reaction, Thank you BDO for a strong line up, enough bands of the same time to be able to park yourself at one stage for a few hours and the non-fuck-around ticket pricing.
