Blak Powerhouse 2024 Announced: JK-47, Becca Hatch, Miss Kaninna + More

Sydney’s Powerhouse Museum has announced an all-Indigenous line-up set to perform on Friday January 26th – the date commonly known as Invasion Day – for its second-annual Blak Powerhouse event. Described as “an evening of Blak power and joy,” the event will also include dance performances, Indigenous art exhibitions and a panel discussion.

Headlining the night will be Minjungbal/Gudjinburra rapper JK-47, who released his second studio album Revision for Regrowth in November of 2023. He will be joined by 3%, the supergroup trio of Nooky, Dallas Woods and Angus Field making only their second Sydney appearance following their debut at SXSW this past October. Other performers include Becca Hatch and the woman behind Music Feeds‘ number-one Australian song of 2023, Miss Kaninna. A full line-up can be found below.

Artwork by Michael Cook and Tjukurpamaru will also be on display, as will the mini-documentary Through the Fire by Indigenous social enterprise We Are Warriors.

Blak Powerhouse took place for the first time on Invasion Day 2023. Its line-up for the inaugural event included BarkaaKanada the Loop and Kobie Dee, amongst other Indigenous performers and artists.
