Britney Spears Posts About World-Record-Breaking 5 Second Sprint, Sends Internet Into A Frenzy

Everyone’s absolute favourite pop star, Britney Spears has given us a doozy overnight. Taking to Instagram, as she often does, Spears shared with fans that she’d not only broken her own PB, but a world record too.

Sharing a screenshot of her phone timer on 5.97 seconds, she wrote, “Ran my first 5 !!!! Getting over your fear of pushing it in the beginning is key …. once I did that I hit 5 !!!!! Usually I run 6 or 7 …. my first try was 9 …. and now I did it whoop !!!!! 100 meter dash !!!!!”

The news has absolutely sent fans… given that, Usain Bolt, who holds the world record for fastest 100m, ran it in 9.58 seconds. A whole 3.61 seconds more.

She then very promptly backtracked on that post, sharing a follow up post. The follow up shows the pop star modelling new dresses and educating us on the symbolism of orange.

“I was tired of being still so I got up to go dance in this orange dress ….. and do you know what I just learned today ??!? That orange symbolizes wealth, success, stimulation, happiness, fun, balance, sexuality, enjoyment, expression, heat, sunshine, and warmth and that’s how I felt when I put it on !!!!!!”

She then addresses her 100m sprint news, saying, “PS …. obviously I was joking about running the 100 meter dash in 5.97 seconds …. the world record is held by Usain Bolt which is 9.58 seconds …. but you better believe I’m coming for the world record !!!! #joking #workbitch”

Watch out Usain.

It’s important to remember that, despite the slight against Usain, Britney is still our saviour. Earlier this week, Spears called for better support during the pandemic and the redistribution of wealth. We do stan.
