Broods Put A Dream Pop Spin On Mac DeMarco’s ‘My Old Man’ For Like A Version

Written by Laura English on June 21, 2019

New Zealand, alt-pop, power duo Broods were up for Like a Version this week. They took on Mac DeMarco‘s ‘My Old Man’ and spun it into a dreamy pop cover that effortlessly transitions into Empire Of The Sun‘s ‘We Are The People’ for a beautiful finish.

They also performed their single, ‘Too Proud’ off of their February album Don’t Feed The Pop Monster for their original too.

It’s been just under three years since Broods were last in the Like a Version studio. They took on Drake’s ‘One Dance’ last time and it was absolutely frothed.

Broods were last in Australia for their Australian ‘Don’t Feed The Pop Monster’ 2019 Tour along with Big Pineapple Festival and Vanfest back in May.

Watch both Broods’ original and Like a Version below.

Mac DeMarco’s Here Comes The Cowboy has been out for just over a month.
